The Boss achieved another big life event – marriage.
WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks married her fiancée Sarath Ton Thursday. In a what appears to be after the ceremony, Ton (left) and Banks (center) pose for a photo with their wedding attire.
Ton is a costume designer with WWE, according to his personal Facebook page. Prior to his seamster role, he was a wrestler.On Twitter, Ton goes by the handle @IamMikaze. He frequently tweets about wrestling and more recently about his new wife’s recent success in WWE, congratulating her on capturing the WWE women’s title for the first time.
Banks was drafted to the RAW brand on July 19 during the 2016 WWE Draft. On the July 25th episode of RAW, Banks became the WWE Women’s Champion, defeating then champion Charlotte with the Bank Statement. The title match was made in the opening segment of that episode by Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon as a punishment for Charlotte and Dana Brooke losing to and Banks and Bayley at the Battleground pay per view the night before. Prior to the July 25th RAW, Banks faced Charlotte and Becky Lynch for the women’s title at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas.
This past week on RAW, Banks was featured in the opening segment of the program. After multiple interruptions by other Superstars, a mixed tag match was made with Sasha Banks and Enzo Amore facing Charlotte and Chris Jericho, with Charlotte eventually pinning Banks after distractions from Dana Brooke and Jericho.
In addition to being WWE Women’s Champion, Banks has also held the women’s title in NXT, Chaotic Wrestling and Independent Wrestling Entertainment. Pro Wrestling Illustrated named her Woman of the Year 2015, as well.
