Sasha Banks Wants WWE To Add Women's Tag Titles

Sasha Banks' Christmas wish list might include the institution of new tag titles for the WWE women's division.

Banks discussed her desire to see tag championships during an appearance on the latest episode of the Steve Austin Show, especially since the bulk of the creative attention on each brand is spent promoting the existing women's title on each show. Banks said she hopes that the recent debut of the faction led by Paige means more opportunities for the WWE women's division to tell more stories.

"Hopefully we have some tag team women's championships coming up so we have more of a story right now," Banks told Austin. "It's good having Paige and the two new girls. Finally it's something more. It's something different. It's not about the championship. I'm very interested to know where we're going next. I have no idea. It's exciting to know it's a different direction and hopefully it's leading to something bigger."

Banks, who has criticized some aspects of WWE booking in the past, noted that there is quite a bit of pressure to hold onto your spot once you reach the main roster. Although she observed it was easier to do so now that the brand split was in place, she also observed a cyclical nature to the booking as new challengers rotate in to face whomever holds the Raw women's title.

"I recently learned, like, you're not always going to be number one. Especially with the women's division," she said. "We're so small, it's going to cycle, you're going to have the opportunity to be number one again and you're going to go back down. It's legit like a Ferris wheel. ... They only really write for the championship match."
