See Triple H Suplex Some Poor German Fan's Soul From His Body

By Sean Ross Sapp

Triple H caught a little bit of flack in recent years when videos emerged of him hitting pads while training, but if this video from the 1990s is any indication, New Hampshire ain't nothin' to mess with.

Following a match with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in the late 1990s, a German fan took to the ring to attack Austin. What resulted was Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Mike Chioda giving the poor Gunter the Crooklyn Stomp in the middle of the ring.

Let's take a look at the video above.

The fan hits the ring, upset that his blue-blooded hero fell victim to a Stone Cold Stunner. As it turns out, Triple H doesn't like people playin' in his ring and hits a nasty waistlock takedown on the fan before drilling him with several punches. Referee Mike Chioda also gets in on the mollywhopping, putting the boots to ol' Hans Gruber. The beating was sustained for a solid 35 seconds before officials finally broke it up. Triple H also got in some solid short knees to the ribs.

Today, things are much different. We usually don't see fans leaping the rails and trying the wrestlers – perhaps being taught a lesson by the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Kevin Nash and others who have laid down beatings on eager beavers. I guess in the 1990s it was easy to forget that 6'3, 230 pound human beings could administer beat-downs with relative ease.

You can also check out some interesting commentary of Austin himself describing the event in the video player below.
