UFC President Says Ronda Rousey Likely Done Fighting

Former Olympic Bronze medalist Ronda Rousey could be done fighting, and UFC President Dana White thinks that could end up being the case.

On this week's UFC Unfiltered Podcast, White was asked about how Rousey has dealt with her UFC 207 defeat to Amanda Nunes. While she seems to be handling things well, White doesn't expect her to step into the cage again.

“She’s good, man. Her spirits are good. She’s doing her thing. In the conversation that I had with her, if I had to say right here, right now, and again I don’t like saying right here, right now because it’s up to her and it’s her thing, but I wouldn’t say she fights again,” White said. “I think she’s probably done. I think she’s going to ride off into the sunset and start living her life outside of fighting.”

Rousey returned to the cage after an absence of over a year to challenge for the UFC Bantamweight Championship at UFC 207. She was promptly disposed of, prompting criticism of her coach Edmond Taverdyan and her preparation methods.

Rousey was linked to Hollywood heavily over the past several years, but had multiple acting projects put on hold. She's also drawn heavy interest from the WWE. She's a former UFC Bantamweight Champion, holding the record for most successful title defenses at six.
