Updates On Samoa Joe And Xavier Woods Injuries

Both the red and the blue brand suffered major blows to their rosters at live events over the past few days, and in one case, the injury apparently caused TV plans to be changed.

On Saturday, at the RAW Live Event in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Samoa Joe reportedly suffered a knee injury during his match with John Cena, according to PWInsider. This caused a change in the card for Sunday's Live Event in Tupelo, Mississippi, as Cena worked Bray Wyatt instead. Also, according to that same report, we were supposed to get a John Cena vs Samoa Joe one on one match at RAW last night, and those plans changed as well, putting Cena in the sensational "worked shoot" promo segment with Roman Reigns instead.

The report states that Joe could be out up to four weeks, but considering that Big Cass tore his ACL last week on RAW and will be out for over 9 months, the Joe diagnosis doesn't seem so bad.

However, a different knee injury occurred at the SmackDown house show in Texarkana, Arkansas, last night.

In a triple threat tag team match also featuring Breezango and The Usos, Xavier Woods of the New Day reportedly planting his leg wrong for a jumping DDT and went down in a heap. The referee threw up the 'X' gesture, one of the Usos quickly rolled up Kofi Kingston and the match quickly ended. Woods could not stand on his own and had to be helped to the back by Big E, Kofi, and a WWE trainer.

Woods Tweeted this after the match:

Video has surfaced of the moment that Xavier Woods injured his leg at the Texarkana house show last night.

You can see he clearly lands wrong off the jumping DDT and immediately rolls out of the ring. They go right to the finish, and Kofi is rolled up by Uso. Big E rushes to check on Woods, as well as Fandango and Kofi as well.

Xavier Woods commented on the video, apparently disappointed in the impressiveness of the move that led to the injury:

Woods noted Tuesday that he's expected to miss 1-4 weeks with an MCL sprain. He was in a walking boot Tuesday night with a sign that said "it's sore."
