The Acclaimed To Defend AEW Tag Titles, Bryan Danielson To Face Tony Nese On 1/4 AEW Dynamite

The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.

As announced during the December 30 episode of AEW Rampage, the champions will defend the gold against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on Wednesday. Lethal and Jarrett have targeted The Acclaimed in recent weeks, and they beat Bowens and Billy Gunn in a tag team match on the December 23 episode of Rampage. Their feud continued to heat up when The Acclaimed dropped a new music video, in which Caster insulted Lethal and Jarrett, on the December 23 episode of Dynamite.

Plus, Bryan Danielson will face Tony Nese in a singles match. Danielson has his sights set on AEW World Champion MJF, and on Friday night, the champion set up a match between Danielson and Tony Nese, hoping to do right by MJF.

Elsewhere on the show, TBS Champion Jade Cargill and Red Velvet will try to coexist when they face Kiera Hogan and Skye Blue. Cargill defeated Hogan to retain her title on Friday, but Velvet walked out on the champion after the match, leaving her status in The Baddies up in the air.

Finally, AEW World Champion MJF is contractually obligated to appear, and fans will get a medical update on Hangman Page.

After AEW Rampage went off the air, Swerve Strickland challenged AR Fox to face him on Dynamite. The match has seemingly been confirmed, as Fox shared the match graphic in a tweet.
