Adam Copeland: I Think Ares Would’ve Made One Heck Of A Wrestler

Adam Copeland gives compliments to his character in Percy Jackson and The Olympians.

Copeland's acting career began when his wrestling career was forced to end prematurely. With roles in shows such as Haven and Vikings, Copeland has proven himself to be a more than competent actor. This has lead to other roles, and most recently, Copeland has starred in the new Disney+ series, Percy Jackson and The Olympians as Ares.

CM Punk Would Pick Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Bron Breakker, And Shayna Baszler As His 'Bar Fight' Team

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Adam addressed the Greek God's character in the show, noting that he would have made 'one heck of a wrestler.'

“He’s supposed to be the god of war, so he’s going to be a god of physicality. My other gig is very much based on physical theater, so they definitely coincide. I think Ares would’ve made one heck of a wrestler. There’s a moment where he ups the intensity, and I was definitely dipping into my wrestling playbook for that.”

Copeland is no stranger to upping the intensity in the squared circle, as he did so on the January 10th AEW Dynamite where he would help his team win a blockbuster eight man tag team match to honor the late Brodie Lee.

Copeland previously stated before that playing the 'larger than life' Ares allowed him to dip into his wrestling playbook. You can read more about his comments here.
