The rules for the first-ever WWE Women's Royal Rumble have been made clear -- and they'll mirror that of the men's Rumble.
On Monday night's episode of WWE Raw, brand General Manager Kurt Angle announced that the female Royal Rumble will feature 30 participants and see the winner get a championship match at WrestleMania. The match was announced on December 18, and gained a major reaction from those on the roster.
Thus far Asuka, Ruby Riott, Naomi and Sasha Banks have all announced that they'll be participating.
The match was discussed and rumored for months before finally being confirmed, with several WWE Superstars publicly pushing for the women's Royal Rumble to happen.
Last year, Fightful took a couple looks at the idea of women in a Royal Rumble match, and looked back at the history of women in the Royal Rumble match.
The 2018 Royal Rumble takes place on January 28, 2018 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of the show, including a live post-show podcast.
