Cody is concussion free.
AEW co-Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes clashed with Darby Allin at AEW's Fyter Fest show in Daytona Beach. The match went to a 30-minute time limit draw and after the match, Cody was hit over the head with a steel chair by Shawn Spears, formerly known in WWE as Tye Dillinger. The chair connected with the back of Cody's head and Rhodes began to shed blood as he lifted his head off the mat. As time went past following the chair shot, AEW's Twitter account posted a photo of Cody at gorilla position backstage and noted in the caption that he has 12 staples in his head and no concussion.

Cody was escorted to the back by MJF, S.C.U., Brandi Rhodes and AEW officials. Shawn Spears would later post the following clip from the Road To Fyter Fest series in-which Cody stated that Spears would be a "great hand" in the company.
