AEW Dynamite Debut Averages 1.4 Million Viewers, NXT On USA Averages 891,000

Viewership numbers are in for the first AEW Dynamite episode and NXT's two-hour USA Network premiere on October 2.

According to The Wrap, AEW Dynamite averaged 1.409 million viewers while NXT did 891,000 viewers. The overnight ratings saw AEW draw a 0.7 rating while NXT drew a 0.5 rating. As far as the 18-49 demographics is concerned, AEW drew 878,000 viewers (0.68 rating, second-best on cable for October 2) while NXT drew 414,000 viewers (0.32 rating, 10th-best on cable for the day).

For NXT, this is the first time the show drew less than one million viewers as the past two weeks managed to get that number. The September 25 episode did see a dip in both viewership and the 18-49 ratings from the September 18 episode. It should be noted that both the September 18 and 25 episodes were two hours long, but only the first hour was televised on USA Network while the second hour was on the WWE Network.

AEW Dynamite's viewership numbers were higher than any of NXT's broadcasts in the past three weeks and the Dynamite premiere came after an All Elite Wrestling Countdown special did more than 600,000 viewers on TNT on October 1.
