AEW and NXT saw viewership increases this week, with only AEW's ratings in the 18-49 demographic being down.
According to numbers released by Showbuzz Daily, the October 14 episode of AEW Dynamite drew 826,000 viewers, which is up from last week's 753,000 viewers. Aside from the October 7 episode, the October 14 broadcast was the least-watched two-hour episode since August 27. NXT, on the other hand, drew 651,000 viewers, which is slightly up from the 639,000 viewers the October 7 episode drew.
In the 18-49 demographic, AEW Dynamite this week drew a 0.30 rating, which is 15th best among original cable telecasts for the day, and down from last week's 0.31 rating. Although Dynamite's rating decreased, it was still more than NXT's 0.17 rating in that same demo, which was 51st best on cable and up from last week's 0.16 rating.
This week's Dynamite was the show's anniversary special, which saw every title be defended. In the main event, Jon Moxley successfully retained his AEW World Championship against Lance Archer in a no disqualification match.
NXT this week saw North American Champion Damian Priest retain his title against Dexter Lumis in the main event. In addition, it was announced that Io Shirai would defend her NXT Women's Championship against Candice LeRae at Halloween Havoc and Priest would defend his title against Johnny Gargano at that same show, taking place on October 28.
