AJ Styles Says He Wants To Wrestle Rey Mysterio Because He Knows How Good Rey Is

AJ is calling his shot.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles is fresh off nearly capturing the WWE Universal Championship at WWE's Money In The Bank pay-per-view but he was ultimately defeated by the champion Seth Rollins. AJ is not letting go of his want for the Universal Title but there are a few "dream matches" that are left on the table for Styles. One of those dream matches involve former United States Champion Rey Mysterio and during an interview with the 'Lubbock Avalanche-Journal', Styles said he wants to mix it up with Rey because he knows how good "The Master Of The 619" is.

“I have yet to be able to get in there with Rey Mysterio like I would like to because I know how good he is,” said Styles. “Any time I’m with Gallows and Anderson, I feel like we bring out the best in each other as far as entertainment goes.”

AJ Styles has made it clear that he is in WWE for the long haul and Styles is grateful to have people chanting his name whenever he comes out in front of a live crowd. He closed his remarks by adding that he hopes to give back to the fans what they've given to him.

“I’m blessed to be able to come into an arena and they know who AJ Styles is and they want to see me there; it’s unbelievable,” Styles said. “I just hope I’m able to give them what they want on a regular basis. With as much support as they’ve given me throughout the years, I hope I’m able to give it right back to them.”

The former U.S. Champion Rey Mysterio revealed that he suffered a dislocated shoulder and the state of the U.S. Title will be decided next week on RAW.
