Alex Wright won't rule out an in-ring return.
Alex Wright hasn't been in the ring since the early 2000s when he was a staple on WCW television. Wright has worked as a trainer and opened up New European Championship Wrestling in 2009. He did visit the WWE Performance Center in 2014.
Speaking on Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Wright was asked if he was open to making an appearance in the WWE Royal Rumble should he get the call.
"Yeah, of course. Of course, why not? I can still go. I'm still young," he said.
Asked if he had a scenario in mind for a potential retirement match, Wright replied, "There are a few scenarios. In general, just stepping back in the ring, especially in the States. I had such good memories over there, that would be something special anyway for me. In Europe and stuff like that, I still love wrestling. Wrestling is in my blood, that's why I never retired. I'm still at that age where I could go in the ring and perform. I don't want to put out any scenarios now."
It is unknown if Wright will ever return to the ring. He has previously stated that he could not sign with WWE after the company purchased WCW as he was under a deal with AOL Time Warner.
Wright is a former WCW Cruiserweight, TV, and Tag Team Champion.
