Chelsea Green discusses her journey to becoming a pro wrestler.
Since returning to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Green has been steadily building momentum, culminating in her becoming the first ever Women's United States Championship at the end of last year.
While speaking to Den Of Geek in a new interview, Chelsea spoke about how she became wrestlers, noting that it took some time for to realise pro wrestling was the career path she would follow.
"It's funny because a lot of my coworkers, they grew up knowing this is it. Like, my husband and my best friend, they came out of the womb knowing they wanted to be a wrestler. I wasn't that way. I was more of just... always an extrovert, always a performer, always a drama queen, always like kind of the center of attention when I was at school and stuff like that. So I knew that that would parlay into my career. I just didn't know how that looked, and I cannot describe to you the feeling that I had when I stepped in the ring for the first time when I went to Storm Wrestling Academy to train. I just, there was something about it, and I knew nothing. I knew absolutely nothing about what I was getting myself into. But I stepped in that ring and I was like, 'oh my gosh, this is what I was meant to do', and then throughout my career, I've had a couple of little moments like that too. Being called to TNA to do my first ever match on TV against Michan. That was a moment like that. Tthen fast forward a couple years after that, it was wrestling for All In as one of the only four to five girls on the show. Then fast forward even past that, it was wrestling Pentagon for Lucha Underground. So there's been so many moments that led up WWE, to, the top of the mountain."
Elsewhere in the same interview, Green spoke about being a part of history. You can read more about that here.
