Amazing Red Announces His In-Ring Retirement

Amazing Red is walking away.

In a new video posted to YouTube, Amazing Red announced that he will be walking away from professional wrestling. Given the day the video is posted, fans may think it is an April Fool's joke. But Red assures everyone that he is stepping away from the ring in order to "take care of himself." Red went on to say that he will continue to teach and training at House of Glory, a promotion he founded in 2014.

Red was scheduled to compete at Destiny & Fight Club Pro on Apr. 4 and House of Glory on Apr. 6 but announced that he would be canceling those bookings. Red said that he was planning on making this announcement after the WWE Cruiserweight Classic in 2016. He was unable to compete in the CWC due to a broken ankle.

Amazing Red made his professional wrestling debut in 1998 under the ICW banner. He is a former three-time TNA/IMPACT X Division Champion, a former NWA World Tag Team Champion with Jeff Lynn, and former ROH Tag Team Champion with AJ Styles. He previously retired in 2006 following a knee injury but returned in 2008.
