Austin Theory Recalls Finding Out He Would Be On WWE WrestleMania 36

Austin Theory went from being a semi-regular on NXT to having a match at WrestleMania 36 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Theory was quickly called in to replace Andrade on WWE television, leading to him getting a Raw Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 36.

Appearing on the Swerve City Podcast, Theory recalled finding out he would be needed for WrestleMania.

"I was doing a leg workout and they called me and said, 'We want you to come film Main Event.' I get there and the match got cut. They said come back tomorrow. I show up the next day, film Main Event, say, 'You need me for anything else?' 'Nope.' I go home, get a call, 'You need to come do Raw.' I do Raw and after that they say, 'You're on WrestleMania now.' It happened so quickly that I didn't have time to get worried or to think. It's just doing what you know," he said.

Theory also noted that when he saw Paul Heyman at EVOLVE 131, Heyman told him, "I'll be seeing you very soon."

Theory has remained part of WWE Raw ever since, going from being in a trio with Andrade and Angel Garza to joining Seth Rollins and Murphy in Rollins' stable.

Theory was absent from Monday's WWE Raw as Rollins officially confirmed his match with Rey Mysterio for Extreme Rules.
