Awesome Kong made a big announcement at NWA EmPowerrr.
During a Gail Kim promo, Taryn Terrell interrupted her former IMPACT Wrestling foe, flanked by Jennacide and Paola Mayfield. After trading some barbs, but before things got physical, Awesome Kong came out and disposed of Terrell and her friends.
Before Gail Kim could leave, Kong brought her back in the ring, grabbed the mic and addressed her longtime rival. Kong said that it has been a tough year at her house and the only thing that would get her off the couch and at tonight's event was Gail. She then revealed that if she is going to go out, she wanted to do it with the toughest foe she knew. She followed that up with "I'm done." The segment concluded with Kong telling Gail that she loves her before they hugged.
After a nearly two-decade career, Awesome Kong has seemingly retired from professional wrestling.
Among her accomplishments, Awesome Kong is a former NWA Women's Champion, a two-time Knockouts Champions, and was ranked #1 on PWI's list of the best 50 female singles wrestlers in 2008.
Awesome Kong has spent time with a number of promotions including SHIMMER, Ring of Honor, WWE, AEW, and All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling, just to name a few.
