Baron Corbin made a statement on WWE NXT.
In the main event of the May 30 episode of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes defeated Noam Dar to retain the NXT Championship. Hayes had some help, as Dragon Lee and Nathan Frazer evened the odds when Oro Mensah tried to interfere in the closing stages of the bout.
Hayes celebrated his hard-fought win after the bell, but the triumphant mood was soured when Baron Corbin ran in and attacked him from behind. Corbin got Hayes in the ring and left the champion lying with an emphatic assault. He then raised the NXT Championship and posed with it as the show came to a close.

Corbin became a free agent following the 2023 WWE Draft, as he was not selected by Raw or SmackDown. As a result, he is free to appear on all three brands. The former King of the Ring winner last wrestled in a battle royal on the May 15 episode of WWE Raw.
