Bayley comments on Mercedes Mone potentially returning to WWE.
Bayley and Mone, then known as Sasha Banks, had a classic feud in NXT, including a memorable match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. They later teamed up on the main roster, and they became the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. The duo reunited in 2019 and won the titles again, and they had a prominent run as the Golden Role Models. Bayley eventually turned on Banks, and they faced off at WWE Hell in a Cell 2020. Banks subsequently walked out of WWE in May 2022, and she went on to leave the company. Meanwhile, Bayley remains a featured member of the women's division.
Speaking with Gorilla Position, Bayley was asked whether she talks to Mone about potentially returning to WWE.
“I beg her every day. I beg her every chance…you know what, it doesn’t matter where it is. It doesn’t matter how it happens. I would love to one day step back in the ring with her. Whether it’s teaming with her, whether it’s against her. But right now, I just want whatever happiness she needs to feel, whatever she needs to accomplish her dreams, accomplish her goals. I’m just happy to see her happy," Bayley said.
Mercedes Mone has been out of action since she suffered an injury at NJPW Resurgence on May 21. She recently provided an update, which can be found here.
Fightful Select previously reported that AEW inquired about Mercedes Mone for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door before her injury.
Bayley will compete in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WWE Money in the Bank on July 1. Fightful will have live coverage of the show as it airs.
