Beth Phoenix: It's Embarrassing To Say I'm Retired Because It's Never True

Beth Phoenix won't say she's retired.

Beth hasn't wrestled since Royal Rumble 2022 when she teamed with Edge to defeat Maryse & The Miz. She has been on WWE television since, most notably at WWE Extreme Rules when she got involved in Edge's "I Quit" match against Finn Balor.

Beth tried to save her husband in the match, but was cut off by Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day, who threatened to hit Phoenix with the Con-Chair-To if Edge didn't say "I Quit." Edge did quit, but Ripley still laid in the Con-Chair-To.

Speaking to Brandi Rhodes on 2 Lies and 1 Truth, Phoenix was asked if she might end up returning to the ring.

"Who knows these days. I say this every single time, it's the most cliche thing, but never say never. Retirement in wrestling isn't a thing, right? It's embarrassing to say I'm retired because it's never true," she said.

Edge hasn't wrestled since losing the "I Quit" match to Balor at WWE Extreme Rules.

It is unknown if or when Beth Phoenix and Edge will return to WWE TV. Fightful Select has more details on Edge's contract with WWE.
