The highly anticipated Blood & Guts match will no longer be happening on the next episode of Dynamite.
AEW President Tony Khan announced on social media that, due to the current circumstances presented as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the time isn't right for the match to take place on the March 25 episode of Dynamite. Instead, the next episode of Dynamite will feature a confrontation between Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy as well as wrestling action.
In the message, Khan also said the next episode of Dynamite will be on March 25, confirming that there will be an episode next week. On the March 18 episode of Dynamite, match announcements were set for the next episode of Dynamite instead of announcing what day the matches would happen.
Our goal every week with AEW Dynamite on TNT is to produce great shows for our fans, and I believe we do. We felt especially motivated to serve our audience this past Wednesday night given what the entire world is coping with, and hopefully we gave them a well-deserved escape during these trying times. Everyone at AEW is very proud of what we delivered and humbled by the response and the kind words we’ve received from fans and partners throughout the world.
Thank you! We plan to continue answering that calling with live weekly shows every Wednesday night on TNT, but the time and circumstances aren’t right for the card we had planned next week for Blood and Guts. That show will happen when the time is right, but what you can count on instead this coming Wednesday night is a great live episode of AEW Dynamite featuring Chris Jericho confronting Matt Hardy, face-to-face, one-on-one, for the first time ever and a tremendous night of wrestling action. On the March 18 episode of Dynamite, The Inner Circle gained the advantage in the Blood & Guts match. The match would have had all five members of The Inner Circle (Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz) go up against the team of The Elite (Cody, Matt Jackson, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page) & Hardy.
Previously announced for the next episode of Dynamite were Best Friends (Chuckie T & Trent) facing The Lucha Bros in a parking lot brawl as well as a lumberjack match between Luchasaurus and Wardlow.
