Bobby Lashley has earned a shot at the WWE United States Championship.
On the January 16 episode of WWE Raw, Lashley faced Seth Rollins, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, and Dolph Ziggler in a six-way elimination match, where the winner would earn a title bout against Austin Theory, the defending champion. All six men previously held the gold, so they were eager to clinch a chance to regain it.
In the main event, the former champions threw everything they had at each other. Rollins eliminated The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, so the match came down to "The Visionary," Lashley, Corbin, and Balor. MVP and Omos came to ringside and distracted Lashley. Corbin took advantage of the situation by flooring Lashley with a clothesline. He then hit the Coup de Grace, but Rollins quickly nailed Balor with The Stomp to eliminate him. Omos then attacked Rollins at ringside. Corbin rolled back into the ring, where Lashley dropped him with a Spear and pinned him to eliminate him.

Theory blasted Lashley with the title belt, and Omos attacked the champion until Rollins intervened. Rollins climbed back into the ring, but MVP distracted him. Once again, Lashley capitalized by dropping Rollins with a Spear for the win. He then stared Theory down to conclude the show, as the rivals will clash again next week.
Theory previously defeated Lashley and Rollins to win the title at WWE Survivor Series.
