Booker T: CM Punk's Injury Is An Opportunity To Make Someone At WrestleMania

Booker T shares his thoughts on CM Punk's injury.

On the January 29 episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk confirmed that he suffered a torn triceps during the Men's Royal Rumble match, so he would be forced to miss WrestleMania 40. Fans had been speculating that Punk was set to face World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, even after Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble match. Due to Punk's injury, the road to WrestleMania now seems unclear.

Speaking on The Hall of Fame, Booker T discussed CM Punk's injury, and co-host Brad Gilmore noted that there is an opening for Rollins' opponent. Gilmore brought up names like The Rock and Steve Austin as options and stated that he wanted to see Rollins face someone who is currently on the roster.

“I’m not looking for anything like that myself. Right now, just coming off the Rumble, you look at the talent pool, you got a plethora of talent right now. There’s so many guys on the roster that can step into that spot and become something and make themselves. To be able to make stars, you gotta put them in a position to become stars. I just think we got an opportunity here, we got a huge opportunity, especially with Punk going down, even though Punk, that’s a great match. Either one of those guys, if Seth wins, it’s great. If Punk wins, it’s great. But Punk is already a made man, and Seth is already a made man. I’m looking to make somebody," Booker T said.

After Punk's announcement on Monday, Seth Rollins approached Cody Rhodes and told him to think about facing him at WrestleMania 40 rather than Roman Reigns.
