A dream match is coming to fruition.
Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, & Hiroshi Tanahashi successfully defended their NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles against Jon Moxley, Shota Umino, & Claudio Castagnoli at NJPW Dominion. The finish saw Okada pin Umino after a rainmaker.
Once the bout ended, Moxley grabbed the mic and said he had a message from the best wrestler in the world.
Bryan Danielson appeared on the big screen, challenging Okada to a match. Okada accepted, saying the Forbidden Door would be open teasing the bout for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2 on June 25.

The bout order was reshuffled at NJPW Dominion due to Castagnoli experiencing flight delays. Fortunately, he was still able to make the event. This marked his debut match in Japan for NJPW.
