The finish saw Danielson tap out Swerve with a modified LeBell Lock after hitting a series of Busaiku Knees.

Both men pulled out all of the stops in the match with Swerve hitting multiple House Call kicks and a Big Pressure Driver, only for Danielson to kick out.

Hangman Page tried to get involved, but was escorted away by security.

Danielson celebrated with his wife Brie Bella and their kids Birdie and Buddy in the ring after the match.

This marks Danielson's first reign as AEW World Champion. Swerve's reign ends at 126 days. He made four successful title defenses.
