Carlito Discusses WWE Return, Wanting To Help Younger Generation

Carlito made a surprise return at WWE Royal Rumble, appearing in a WWE ring for the first time since 2010.

Carlito entered the Rumble at number eight and lasted just over eight minutes before being eliminated by Elias. The following night on Raw, Carlito teamed with Jeff Hardy to pick up a victory over Jaxson Ryker and Elias.

Appearing on WWE After The Bell, Carlito gave his reasoning for wanting to return.

"I didn't like the way things ended. I didn't expect it would be ten years to get back, but I wanted to at least, even if I came back one time, leave a better taste in my mouth and feel like the hatchet was buried and everything was on the up and up. I'm happy to be back and back around. If that was my last time, it was nice to finally come back and end things on better terms," he said.

After his appearance at the Rumble it was reported by PWInsider that Carlito could be getting a tryout as a producer in WWE.

When asked about potentially helping the next generation as a coach or producer, Carlito said, "I've always liked helping the younger guys. I want the business to do better as a whole. Any part that I can do, I will help out where I can."

Carlito specifically said he wanted to help better Latino representation in wrestling.

He ended by saying, "We'll see what the future holds. If the conditions are right, I'd love to be back. That was my whole goal. Go away, take a breather, and come back."

Details regarding Carlito's role in WWE moving forward are currently unknown.
