Andrade previously beat Carmelo Hayes on the July 19th episode of WWE SmackDown. He then beat Hayes on the August 2nd episode of WWE SmackDown. Hayes got some revenge by defeating Andrade on the August 16th episode of WWE SmackDown. They then brawled after the bell, and officials struggled to separate them.
In a SmackDown Exclusive, Carmelo Hayes was asked about his win and the post-match brawl.
“Let’s talk about what happened during the match. Let’s talk about what happened at the end of the match. Andrade, I beat your bitch ass, one-two-three, in the middle of the ring. The whole world said I couldn’t do it. The whole world said I was gonna go 0-3, that ‘Melo was gonna miss again, and I told you, I said ‘Melo can’t miss this one, ‘Melo won’t miss this one, and ‘Melo didn’t freaking miss this one," Hayes said.
