Cedric Alexander will attempt his third Championship defense next week.
Alexander has already beat Kalisto and Buddy Murphy in Championship matches since becoming the WWE Cruiserweight Champion during the WrestleMania 34 kickoff show.
In the past few weeks, Alexander asked General Manager Drake Maverick to face Itami who had been antagonizing him and Itami won a triple threat against Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali during that time.
Last week the two wrestler came face to face in a backstage segment.
During 205 Live this week, it was announced Alexander would be granted his match against Itami.
Since he arrived at 205 Live, Itami has only lost one singles match on the show which was a tournament match against Roderick Strong.
