On Monday's WWE Raw, Charlotte Flair was taken out by Nia Jax in an apparent injury angle to put her off television.
Following Raw, WWE issued a storyline update saying Charlotte was being evaluated for an injury saying "it is believed she may have suffered a potential collarbone fracture."
On Tuesday, it was reported Charlotte would be undergoing elective surgery, but that she was not injured. There were conflicting reports on when she would return to television with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer saying there was hope she would be back by SummerSlam and Alex McCarthy of talkSport saying there is "0 percent chance Charlotte returns for SummerSlam," and that Charlotte would be taking an extended break that could last until the Royal Rumble.
In an interview with Sport Hiatus, Charlotte addressed reports that she would be missing from television.
"I'll only be gone for a few weeks," she claimed.
She continued, discussing how she'll continue to be active while off television, "They can still play things on the Network, but utilizing my social media will be most important while I'm gone. With WWE, there are so many things I'm apart of, like the organization Girl Up, I'm able to stream live from my social media...no one is going to miss me, they're still gonna feel like I'm there. I'm gone, but I'm not really gone."
Charlotte was "injured" by Nia Jax on Monday after losing to Asuka in a Raw Women's Championship match.
