Chelsea Green was on the 2015 season of Tough Enough, though despite her wrestling experience, wasn't signed by WWE at that time. Instead, Green had to wait until 2018 to get her WWE contract.
And when it finally came, Green still wasn't sure it was real.
"It happened so quick. I was at a Bar Wrestling show when [Zack Ryder] called me to say that my contract came in," Green told Alica Atout. "I knew I was going to be signed, but I had been told so many things, so many times, that I didn't believe it until...I was like, 'Open it up, right now, and show it to me. Take a picture.' I have a picture on my phone of him holding the contract. I couldn't really talk about it but it was only about a month or two that I couldn't talk about it. I still did All In and then started (with WWE) right away. It was a long four-and-a-half-years to get there. I feel like everything I worked for and all the money I spent and the time on the road, it was all worth it."
Though Green was signed in August 2018, she wasn't used regularly on television until 2020, aligning herself with Robert Stone as part of his Brand.
In a different interview, Green discussed NXT missing the boat on women's factions. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
