Sammy Guevara has been one of the breakout stars in AEW during their short time on TNT. He is a charter member of The Inner Circle and is routinely featured in multiple segments throughout the night. While his career win-loss record isn't the best (4-6), Guevara did score a victory over Dustin Rhodes on Wednesday's Dynamite.
Guevara has had the pleasure of sitting under Chris Jericho's learning tree since the early days of Dynamite. And speaking to Premier Live TV, Jericho revealed he picked Guevara to be in AEW.
"That's one of the reasons why I chose him to be in AEW and when the idea came to put him in the Inner Circle, I was all for it. He's one of the breakout stars of the Inner Circle. He's got great, natural, heel presence. Awesome charisma. He knows what he's doing and is far beyond his years of experience. A pleasant surprise, not that I didn't think he was good, but he's really gone above and beyond in a very short period of time by being in the spotlight. Very proud of Sammy," he said.
Along with getting the spotlight in the ring, Guevara has had time to carry segments on the microphone as well. He did a promo while walking through the crowd on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite, setting up Jericho's appearance on the big screen where he made his pitch to Jon Moxley to join the Inner Circle.
