Chris Jericho reveals he tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking to Dr. Alex Patel on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 in September 2020, though he wasn't 100% sure on the month.
"I haven't told anybody this, but I tested positive in maybe September. I had zero symptoms. I had my ten days in isolation and stayed away from everybody. I didn't have a symptom. I didn't even know that I had it. I went and got a test, just in general, and it said I was positive. I was like, 'Really? Are you serious?' I had nothing. I didn't have a headache, I didn't have a cough, which is a lucky thing, but on top of that, once I did have it -- and it wasn't a false positive, because I took three different tests and they were all positive -- but now, I have the antibodies," said Jericho
Jericho was active on AEW television throughout the month of September, competing in five matches. AEW does tape twice a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays) in order to take a week off, allowing talent to quarantine between shows.
He has received criticism for his stance on COVID-19, most notably for doing a Fozzy concert at Sturgis, which was linked to 250,000 COVID cases.
Jericho is set to be part of Wednesday's AEW Dynamite when he and the Inner Circle give their New Year's Resolutions.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
