Chris Jericho Says Sammy Guevara Is Injured On 1/17 AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara missed AEW Dynamite due to injury.

At AEW Battle of the Belts IX, Ricky Starks and Big Bill defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Street Fight. At the end of the match, Guevara went to dive off a lighting rig onto Starks, but Powerhouse Hobbs interfered as he pulled Starks out of the way; as a result, Guevara crashed onto the floor, and Starks pinned him for the win.

As of this writing, the nature of Guevara's injury is not known. There is no word on when he will return to the ring. Fightful will monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.

Guevara recently made his return on the December 27, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite. He suffered a concussion at AEW WrestleDream, and he was also absent due to the birth of his and Tay Melo's child.
