Chris Sabin Says TNA Wrestling Returning To A Six-Sided Ring Was Never Seriously Discussed

Chris Sabin comments on TNA Wrestling's iconic six-sided ring and why it won't be returning alongside the promotion's rebranding in 2024.

TNA Wrestling and its six-sided ring was one of the promotion's unique calling cards in the mid-2000s. However, over time the ring returned to a more traditional squared circle.

In 2024, IMPACT Wrestling will return to its iconic TNA Wrestling branding. However, the hexagonal ring will not be returning, as reported by Fightful Select. In a new interview with the Battleground Podcast, Sabin says the ring is not returning because of safety concerns.

"I don't think there was ever serious discussion about it, not any that I was involved in any way. There might have been at that level, but I think the consensus was that it's a little more dangerous ring, and that could have been just the one that TNA used back in the day, because the bump was really, really hard, but apparently, it had to be that way because of how the six-sided ring is constructed. So I don't think there's any serious discussion.I think it's cool. I think it's different, but at the same time, I think the health and well-being of the performers has to come first before something like that," he said.

Elsewhere on this podcast, Sabin spoke about wanting the X-Division to be restored to its former glory. Read his comments here.
