Christian Cage and Matt Sydal want to become AEW World Champion.
Despite the fact that Christian Cage is currently feuding with Team Taz, Christian Cage has declared that he will be entering the Casino Battle Royal on Sunday, May 30, 2021. The stipulation of this match will allow the winner to challenge for the World Championship at any time they choose.
After that, he challenged Taz to bring any of his people to the ring next week to answer Christian's open challenge and that's when Christian was surprised by Matt Sydal who informed him that he will also be competing in the Battle Royale and will be competing against Christian Cage next week.
Both Matt and Christian have a history in WWE. Evan Bourne was briefly a WWE tag team champion during the early 2010s and Christian Cage of course has one of the most storied legacies in WWE.
Next week, both men clash in a rare singles match.
