Chuck Taylor and Rey Fenix continue to deal with injuries.
AEW announced that the Lucha Bros (Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo) were scheduled to face the Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) on the January 17 episode of AEW Dynamite. However, in an interview, Renee Paquette announced that there was supposed to be a tag team match between the Best Friends and the Lucha Bros, but both teams were dealing with injuries.
Trent Beretta explained that Chuck Taylor was hurt worse than he thought. Taylor noted that his ankle was jammed up. Beretta elaborated by saying his ankle was “jammed up bad.” Due to Taylor’s injury, Orange Cassidy teamed up with Beretta instead.
Meanwhile, Komander replaced Rey Fenix, but no additional explanation was given.

Cassidy and Beretta went on to score the victory.
Taylor has been out of action since the October 6 episode of AEW Rampage (taped on October 4). Fenjx has not had a match since Orange Cassidy defeated him to win the AEW International Championship on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.
It is not known when Chuck Taylor or Rey Fenix will return to the ring. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
