Clark Connors has challenged El Desperado to hardcore match.
During night two of the 2025 New Japan Cup tournament, El Desperado captured a victory in a six man tag team bout to gain some momentum.
After the match, a video would play of Clark Connor's challenging El Desperado to a hardcore match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
"Desperado. I heard that you wanted a match with Clark Connors. Well, I want your title. So let's settle this the only way that me and you can. In a hardcore match, and this time, Despy, I'm not going to just take your mask. I'm not going to just take your title. I'm going to take your fucking life. Because you were not my dog for real."

After the video played in the arena, El Desperado would accept Clark's challenge.
