Claudio Castagnoli pays homage to two great champions in wrestling history at AEW Full Gear 2023.
On the Zero Hour program prior to the actual start of the pay-per-view event, Castagnoli defeated Buddy Matthews in a highly competitive match by utilizing the Sharpshooter. While made famous by Bret Hart, Castagnoli uses the maneuver as an homage to his former tag team partner TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd).
After the match, Claudio offered to shake Buddy's hand, but the House of Black member snubbed him so Claudio brushed the dirt off his shoulders and did the you can't see me hand gesture made famous by John Cena. In the past, Cena has stated that that slogan was to signify that somebody was not on your level.

The other members of the House of Black will be in action when Brody King and Malakai Black challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a 4-Way Ladder Match on the actual pay-per-view.
