CM Punk wants to start working his way toward an AEW Title shot.
After defeating MJF in a Dog Collar Match at AEW Revolution, CM Punk spoke about potentially going after the AEW Championship during the AEW Revolution Post-Show Media scrum. Punk said he has other plans for the time being.
"I think so. There are people I want to wrestle just for wrestling's sake, but after a while, I don't know how much time I have," Punk said. "I don't know how many matches I have left. If I'm not working my way towards a title shot and I'm not trying to be where Hangman is, I don't know what I'm doing. I think that's something that might happen, keep your eyes on it."
The former WWE and ROH World Champion imagines that a chase for the AEW World Championship Title is possible. However, he does like the current titleholder.
"There is a ranking system, I think I'm doing pretty good; I like Hangman, though. It's a lot easier to wrestle someone when you hate him. I like that Cowboy," Punk concluded.
After a seven-year absence, CM Punk is now 13-1 since returning to professional wrestling in August of 2021. The match went nearly 27 minutes before Punk defeated MJF in a Dog Collar Match.
