CM Punk continued to take aim at MJF at AEW New Year's Smash on the mic while making his first appearance at Daily's Place on Wednesday.
During his promo against MJF, Punk called him, "A bigger waste of Khan money than Tim Tebow."
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Tebow as a tight end on May 20 for the veteran minimum of $920,000. He was released on August 17.
Speaking to The Schmo, Punk admitted he loves Tebow.
"Poor Tebow, he got caught in the crossfire. I love Tebow. I respect everything he did. Going back and playing baseball for the Mets farm team is commendable. The dude is an amazing athlete. Just, when I'm on TV, even if I'm a good guy, I'm a bad guy. Tebow, I love you, you just got caught in the crossfire," he said.
When asked why he didn't mention Urban Meyer, who was fired by the Jaguars on January 14 and fired on December 16 after going 2-11 and having on and off-field issues, Punk said, "Urban Meyer is a bit much of a hot topic right now. There might be some bad blood between the Khans and Urban so I don't want to put that on the table. I've mellowed out in my old age. Normally, I would just attack. I'm a little bit more chill nowadays."
The Jaguars are still searching for their next head coach while CM Punk is still searching for his one-on-one match with MJF.
