CM Punk will serve as the special guest referee for Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams on the October 1st episode of NXT.
The bout will be for the NXT Championship and takes place in Punk's hometown of Chicago.
Speaking to Brady on 1035 KISSFM, Punk was asked if he's been practicing his count.
"I'm going to try and outdo goofy Seth Rollins with my referee outfit, I think. I have to. I think they want me to wear that headset that he had, the ref cam. Things are going to get wild. We'll see how it goes," he said.
Rollins was the special guest referee for Punk vs. Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam.
The last time Punk wore a referee's shirt was at WWE Clash at the Castle when he didn't count to three as McIntyre had Damian Priest beat for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
Punk will face McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood.
