Cody Rhodes On AJ Styles Facing Naomichi Marufuji: I Can See AJ Styles Really Showing Out In Japan

Cody Rhodes looks forward to seeing AJ Styles face Naomichi Marufuji.

WWE star AJ Styles will face Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH Destination 2024 on July 13. The match will mark Styles' return to Japan and the first time that he will share a ring with the NOAH icon.

Speaking with Pro Wrestling NOAH's YouTube channel, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes shared his thoughts on AJ Styles.

"AJ Styles, I refer to him as a modern excellence of execution. Bret Hart was the original excellence of execution, and I feel AJ really follows that greatly in terms of, AJ was already somebody who was doing new things and breaking the rules and part of the revolution in the industry. He was already a huge part of that. The most sought-after free agent in forever, and then finally here, we actually saw a better version of him, and that’s not always the case. But with age, AJ has gotten completely…his game is complete, in terms of how he is as a performer and a competitor. I very much look forward to what AJ...I can see AJ Styles really showing out in Japan," Rhodes said.
