Charles Mason is set to compete in the JCW Jersey J-Cup 2025, which begins on February 15th.
Mason faces Fuego Del Sol, Mr. Danger, Terri Yaki, and Sidney Akeem in a first round match up. The five-way bout is only one of two multi-person matches in the first round.
Appearing on In The Weeds with Jeremy Lambert and SP3, Mason shared his thoughts on being part of a multi-person first round match.
"I think I deserve a marquee opponent, instead they put me up against people like Mr. Danger, who I've been in the ring with before and I beat before. Fuego Del Sol, he kind of stands out, as well as Sidney Akeem, I've never faced Sidney before. Me and Fuego have history. Then there is Terri Yaki, I don't know who that is. I've never been around him or met him. I take offense to this matchup. When I win, the second round is intriguing. I face whoever comes out victorious between Atticus [Cogar] and Joey [Janela]. Joey, I've beaten before. Atticus, that's intriguing. That's something that makes me salivate, the thought of being in the ring with him.
"On the opposite side, I'm going to win my bracket; that's a foregone conclusion; on the other side, there is one matchup that I'm interested in seeing the results of. My trainer Amazing Red, going up against someone I've beaten before and holds that championship, Masha Slamovich. It's been a couple of years since me and Masha have touched and I've been waiting to get my hands on her."
Slamovich is the reigning JCW Champion and the winner of the 2024 Jersey J-Cup.
