D'Lo Brown talks about long-term goals for IMPACT Wrestling.
D'Lo Brown has been working behind the scenes with IMPACT Wrestling for several years. Currently, he is their Head of Talent Relations. In recent years, the promotion has settled into a pattern of hosting a pay-per-view or streaming special in a city and then filming television content in the days following that airs for several weeks.
Once upon a time, IMPACT aired its TV show live every week. Brown hopes that could be the case one day as the promotion continues to grow.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Brown spoke about people "sleeping on IMPACT" and said that if fans give IMPACT a chance for three weeks, they will return for the fourth and never leave.
"I have said this, and I say this with no disrespect, but if you're sleeping on IMPACT Wrestling, that's a 'you problem,' not a 'me problem,'" said Brown. "I will tell you, if you give IMPACT three shows, three weeks, you'll be back for the fourth, and you'll stay with us. I think our TV is done in a way where it draws you in. It doesn't insult the intelligence of the viewer, and it pays homage to what wrestling is supposed to be."
Brown also talks about the long-term hope that the brand will one day produce live weekly television again.
"You can only hope that that's our ultimate end goal. You can only hope that that's where as we grow, that's where our success will take us. As of right now, I'm just happy putting out a quality product that you can see on YouTube [and] television," Brown said.
For the foreseeable future, IMPACT has many exciting events coming up, including Multiverse United 2, a show co-promoted with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Learn more here.
