Dan Lambert says Kayla Harrison would make a great wrestler because she is a bit of an asshole.
Dan Lambert of American Top Team has been making several AEW appearances as of late with names such as Junior dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski, Paige VanZant, and more. As the appearances continue to add up, Lambert says more Fighters at his gym are interested in joining the fray and stepping inside the squared circle.
Speaking with James Lynch of My MMA News, Dan Lambert named several of the fighters that have appeared in AEW thus far as names he thinks would be great in wrestling. Specifically, he named Kayla Harrison as somebody who he thinks has the charisma for it despite the fact that prior to her appearance, she was anti-professional wrestling.
"If you saw Kayla getting the ring when she was there for that one little spot we did she was you know for someone who was anti-pro wrestling before she went she was she got into a pretty damn quick and she's got a lot of charisma and she's got some attitude to go along with it just kind of an asshole. So I think she can be effective at that."
Lambert, who is openly a fan of professional wrestling, acknowledges that even though MMA athletes are great, professional wrestling is a unique craft of its own and no fighter should just expect to be able to shift gears into this career without facing struggles.
"I thought they all did well and I think they could all succeed in it you know, but again, you don't just walk into pro wrestling and become a star or do something. Well, it takes those guys years and years to hone their craft just like it takes someone years and years to hone a craft in MMA. So you know protecting them and putting them in the right situation. You know, I think they can get across well but I mean if someone says I'm going to become a full-time pro wrestler, that's a pretty daunting task to think you just walk in and do well at that."
In other interviews, Lambert has spoken of the enjoyment Andrei Arlovski and Junior dos Santos have gotten from their AEW appearances. Learn more here.
