Daniel Cormier: Just Because A Fight With Brock Lesnar In WWE Makes Sense, Doesn't Mean It'll Happen

Daniel Cormier talks about potentially crossing paths with Brock Lesnar in WWE.

Daniel Cormier is going to referee inside the Fight Pit at WWE Extreme Rules as Seth Rollins battles Matt Riddle. Now that the door is open for Daniel Cormier to do more with WWE, fans began to wonder whether or not WWE could host a match between Cormier and Brock Lesnar. Cormier and Lesnar have a history with one another, having a brief confrontation in the octagon at UFC 226 following Daniel Cormier's KO victory over Stipe Miocic.

Speaking with ESPN, Daniel Cormier says he has yet to hear anything regarding a potential plan between himself and Brock Lesnar in WWE, but fans are talking and that's always a good thing.

"I've not heard anything. That's the thing, right? When something like this happens, and this was, honestly, very good for me because people started to talk. People started talking about, 'Oh my goodness, I remember when him and Brock were in the octagon and they were supposed to fight.' So, it seems to make a lot of sense. But as you know, just because something makes sense see, it doesn't mean that it's going to happen. So, no, there is no talk of me fighting Brock Lesnar."

Speaking about the confrontation that he and Brock Lesnar had at UFC 226, Daniel Cormier says it was the beginning of something akin to a WrestleMania build without a payoff.

"We laid the foundation, but we did not get the payoff. It was a slow build. The build was far too slow. Yeah. It was like a year build with no WrestleMania match," he said.
