Darby Allin Retains, Top Flight Beats The Young Bucks | AEW Fight Size

Here is your post-AEW Dynamite fight size update for Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

- Darby Allin defeated KUSHIDA to retain the TNT Championship. Kevin Knight and The DKC accompanied Allin to the ring. After the bell, KUSHIDA shook hands with Allin and seemingly challenged him to a rematch.

Bleacher Report 'Taking A Step Back' From Hosting AEW Pay-Per-Views

- Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) took on the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and scored the upset win over the former AEW World Tag Team Champions.

- Jay Lethal came up short when he challenged Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship. Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt in the crowd, but they were barred from ringside; AEW announced that if they interfered at all, Dutt would be fired. Danhausen stole Jarrett's guitar, and Cassidy emerged victorious. After the match, Dutt stopped his allies from attacking Cassidy, Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor, determined to protect his job.

- AEW wrestlers honored Jay Briscoe throughout the show, which also acknowledged his passing with an on-screen graphic. The broadcast team also mentioned Briscoe throughout the night.

- Hangman Page spoke with Renee Paquette and commented on his win over Jon Moxley. He also suggested that his next step will be mending fences, though he didn't elaborate.

- Despite some interference from Angelo Parker and Matt Menard, Ricky Starks defeated Jake Hager.

- Former ROH World Champions clashed as Bryan Danielson faced Bandido. "The American Dragon" scored the victory in the thrilling contest. AEW World Champion MJF sent Danielson a heated message after the match and warned him of the monster he'll face as their feud continues.

- Hoping to motivate Brian Cage, MJF gave him what appeared to be a large sum of cash in exchange for breaking Bryan Danielson's arm in their match next week. The AEW World Champion also slapped Cage in the face to add more fuel to the fire.

- Chris Jericho threw down the gauntlet for a tag team match on next week's episode of AEW Dynamite, where he and Daniel Garcia would face Action Andretti and Ricky Starks. Daniel Garcia made it clear that he wanted to be in the match. Guevara told Garxia he would get his spot if he beats Andretti on Rampage.

- Backstage, Saraya and Toni Storm showed some new attitude when they addressed Hikaru Shida's botched interference in their tag tea match last week. Storm claimed that the homegrown talent in AEW don't know what they're doing. Saraya then accompanied Storm to the ring for her match against Willow Nightingale, and she helped Storm clinch the win. After the match, Saraya and Storm ganged up on Nightingale until Ruby Soho ran in to make the save.

- The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) continued to claim that they're the reason The Acclaimed (Anthon Bowens & Max Caster) are popular. Caster insulted the duo in a rap, and the two teams brawled. Billy Gunn pulled them apart and announced that they were going to hash out their issues with some family therapy next week.

- Ethan Page and Stokely Hathaway discussed Page's upcoming match against "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry.

- Konosuke Takeshita got fired up and called MJF an asshole.

- A video package recapped Adam Cole's return.
