Seth Rollins had a plan to counter the duo of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
Dean Ambrose returned on Raw and will be in Rollins' corner this Sunday when he challenges Ziggler for the Intercontinental title. Ambrose has been on the shelf since December 2017 with a triceps injury. Prior to the injury, he and Rollins were engaged in a battle with The Bar over the Raw Tag Team Titles. Rollins and Ambrose re-united at SummerSlam last year to win the Raw Tag Team Titles from The Bar. The Shield re-united shortly after.
Rollins has been constantly outnumbered in his feud with Ziggler and McIntyre, highlighted by his loss in a handicap match to the IC champion and his Irish tag partner last week on Raw. The numbers game also caught up to Rollins at Extreme Rules as McIntyre's interference cost Rollins in the Iron Man Match.
After RAW went off the air, Dean Ambrose made his in-ring return when he teamed up with Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor to take on Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin.
