We've come to the end of the road.
Dean Ambrose's WWE contract is reaching the end, and WWE has reacted accordingly. The company moved his WWE.com profile from Raw to the "alumni" section of their website as he's refused to re-sign. Ambrose reportedly turned down multiple seven-figure deals and will instead walk away from the company he's been with since 2011.
The former WWE Champion had his last match alongside Shield partners Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins during a live event that was broadcast on the WWE Network as "The Shield's Final Chapter." Fightful can confirm, however, that Ambrose is still actively being advertised for next week's WWE Raw in Lexington as teaming with the Shield "one last time." Our requests for clarity on this have gone unanswered.
Ambrose leaves WWE as a decorated superstar. He's won the WWE Championship, United States Title, become a two-time tag team champion, and a three-time tag team champion in addition to five Slammy awards. He will not be subject to a 90-day no-compete clause, as his contract is expiring as opposed to him quitting or being released from his deal. Thus far, Ambrose has made no indication of any future plans outside of WWE.
