The NXT North American Championship will now be on the line in a Triple Threat at WWE NXT Great American Bash.
"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio captured the NXT North American Championship on July 18 from the longest-reigning champion to date, Wes Lee. However, when Mysterio captured the title, Lee already had a scheduled title match in place against Mustafa Ali at the WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 event.
The title picture quickly straightened itself out when Mysterio opened the July 25 episode of WWE NXT, only to be interrupted by Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali. Ali would say that Lee was stupid for allowing Dominik to sneak in and take the championship, and both men would end up brawling while Mysterio and Rhea Ripley walked away.
It was later confirmed that Mysterio will now defend the championship against both Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali on July 30th in Cedar Park, Texas, and yes, "Mami" Ripley will be in his corner.
